Course Details

When you know that you’re on the path to a career within childcare, this is the course to give you the strongest foundation. It brings in all of the elements of a Certificate to help you inspire and encourage children’s educational development, plus additional learning on leadership and management.

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121) prepares students for the role of educator in a range of early childhood education settings, operating under the national and state legislative guidelines and regulations provided for education and care services. Educators help support the implementation of an approved learning framework to facilitate children’s wellbeing, learning, and development.

This is a nationally recognised qualification from the Community Services Training Package. It is a prerequisite for educators who wish to equip themselves for leadership and management positions within the early childhood sector, such as:

  • room leader
  • family day care service coordinator, and
  • centre director

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121) contains 15 units studied over a maximum period of 24 months. Students are provided with textbooks, online resources and on-going student support from qualified trainers and assessors experienced in the early childhood field. Students are required to complete 280 hours of practical experience in a registered early childhood education and care facility.

PEAK training offers this course online.
