This fully accredited single unit course will equip educators and service leaders to implement adequate health and hygiene practices and safe practices for handling, preparing and storing food to minimise risks to children. Educators handling and serving unpackaged, potentially hazardous food, must ensure they comply with Regulation 77 Health, hygiene and safe food practices of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. Compliance for this Regulation is the responsibility of Nominated Supervisors and Family Day Care Educators.
The educator will need to demonstrate following the correct hand washing procedures, cleaning and tidying work areas on at least two occasions via an online observation or a submitted video.
